Based on his 30 years of experience of shoemaking by hand, Jan P. Myhre will be giving (on demand) one-to-one shoemaking classes for upcoming talents in the noble art of shoemaking. All steps in the process will be supervised by Jan P. Myhre in Oslo, Norway.
Online introduction to the craft
You will be given a brief introduction to the fundamental principles, and the necessary parts involved to complete a pair of shoes. You have the opportunity to ask questions about how to get started, which tools you need and how to get them, suitable materials, suppliers etc. Ask for current cost depending on your need.
Lastmaking Course
Along with the Shoemaking Classes, this 5 days Lastmaking Course is suitable for those who wants to be introduced to making Lasts for Shoemaking by hand. You will learn how and what to take into consideration during the measuring process and how to gradually transform the information into a pair of lasts.

Duration: 5 days Course. You will learn the basic techniques in making lasts by hand.
Cost: € 1.900,- plus Rough Turns and Tools (ask for current price).

Shoemaking Classes
This one-to-one Shoemaking Class is suitable for students with the ambition to make this craft their career as a Maker. During the Course, we will focus on every detail in each step of the Shoemaking process to obtain an optimal understanding for you as a student.
Location: Oslo, Norway
Duration: 6 weeks Course. You will learn the basic techniques in making shoes by hand.
Cost: € 5.500,-
Tools: A basic set of handtools are available for purchase! If you have your own Tools, please ask for a complete list and see what you need as you continue working.

Points to notice:
It is not necessary, but an advantage to have a basic understanding and some practical experience with either woodwork, leatherwork, or shoemaking before both the Shoemaking Classes and the Lastmaking Course. Other kinds of experience with the use of hand tools are also valuable. This is necessary to be able to follow the Course content in any of the above mentioned alternatives.
The schedule might be challenging for some and fairly easy for others. Prepare for a minimum of 7 hours daily work.
Both Lastmaking and making will be carried out entirely by hand, and will be focusing solely on welted shoes.
